Care as a shared social responsibility.
Our community programmes network includes trained neighbours, students, and well-wishers who make sure no patient is left unsupported. In 2025, 109 active volunteers walked alongside our families.

A familiar presence, beyond the clinical.
Volunteers are a core strength of Arike - enabling compassionate, continuous, and culturally sensitive care that reaches far past the clinical visit.

Koode Volunteer
Building Community Capacity
Koode Volunteer is the foundation of Arike's community model. It transforms local residents into trained, organised volunteers who extend Arike's care capacity beyond paid staff, creating a sustainable network of compassionate community support.
The volunteer programme includes comprehensive training in patient care, communication skills, emotional support, and managing one's own grief and burnout. Volunteers progress through tiered roles: companions, home helpers, peer educators, and community coordinators. Ongoing support includes monthly reflection circles, mentorship, and recognition.
Sustained Community Care
Koode Volunteers describe the experience as transformative. Many report finding deeper purpose and community belonging through the work. Patients and families experience care that is both professionally trained and genuinely neighbourhood-based. The volunteer model proves that palliative care is not just a health intervention but a community practice.
Strengthening the wider ecosystem.
Arike views capacity building as a core responsibility - training doctors, nurses, volunteers, students, and caregivers to strengthen home care across the region.
